WWW: This is a really strong assessment, well done. Excellent engagement with issues, ideas and theories.

EBI: Q2 perhaps needed a little more clarity and organisation (particularly towards the end) for the very top level but overall this is very strong.

6/8 The choice of typography – serif font, formal white on dark background – reinforces this idea of traditional gender roles more ‘woke’ approach to gender identity and fluidity.

-The female model is presented as a ‘spectacle’ for male pleasure 

-The ‘Good girl’ / ‘Bad boy’ campaign that strongly reinforces classic gender stereotypes contrasts with recent campaigns such as Gillette’s ‘Boys will be boys’ advert 

-Sexualises the female model, placing her in a submissive position at the feet of a man and exposing her leg.

1) Why is representation an important concept in Media Studies? Representation create meaning, it is a central to an understanding of the media. The media intervene and stand between the object and what we see – the act of communicating the image or idea in some way changes it. 2) How does the example of Kate Middleton show the way different meanings can be created in the media? • A picture editor selects the photo from a whole series of images to be used to illustrate a news story. 1) Why did you choose A Level Media Studies? I enjoyed it at GCSE. 2) Did you take GCSE Media Studies (either here at Greenford or a different school)? Yes I did media studies at Greenford High School. 3) If you answered yes to Q2, what grade did you achieve in GCSE Media? What coursework task did you complete? What would you say your strengths and weaknesses were in GCSE Media? I achieved a grade 6 at GCSE Media. The courserowrk brief was a two minute sequence for a new television science fiction/ fantasy drama series including narrative resolution would occur towards end of episode.My strengths were filming and editing to fit the brief. 4) What grade do you hope to achieve in A Level Media?
